Some journeys must end unsuccessfully for new journeys to begin
I set out 2023 to level up my business acumen with regards to portrait photography. Website updated, portfolio uploaded, leads generated. Surely this is it? Middling success included.
Reality set in some time later, it started to crumble in the middle of 2024. Leads fickled out, some miscommunications and misunderstood expectations later I put the camera down, vowing to get back to art for art’s sake. Business accounts remained active yet dormant. Rumination over what could have been, should have been. Moderately depressed I tried to ignore the writing on the wall.
Skip a whole bunch of steps along the journey and now we’re here. At the end of the professional photography journey; roots rediscovered, domains repurposed.
grimbar yet lives, I shall philosophically wax on free and open source things from now on - continuing to carry the torch that is my name.
I still create portraits and teach newcomers whenever the situation arises, just decoupled from any professional aspirations.
